![]() I don't know, maybe I'm ranting here and need to be put down by the community, but I felt kind of insulted by this. Isn't any new implementation to a game a possible innovation? Every change in graphic, every fix in the AI, every expansion of story! Were not trying to be innovative? What? What does this even mean? That your just making a carbon copy of Starcraft 1 with all its little sprites? "We're not trying to be innovative," says StarCraft II design director Dustin Browder ![]() “They could do it but they will have to go out of their way to ensure that they are simulating the way that the game works in 2D instead of making it 3D, if that makes sense”.I've read gamasutras post by a developer from Blizzard over Starcraft and was hit by this quote. "On a fundamental level that can not be really comprehended unless you're a programmer that has done this kind of thing before… if they do a Diablo 2 Remaster, it’s going to be difficult to make it feel exactly like the same game”, added Brevik. Because the moment that you change the fundamental way that you interact with the game and you move around the world, you’re changing the game. Everybody would just make 3D artwork and put it on a 3D grid which works except for it doesn’t work. ![]() “They were nothing like they’re made today. There’s also the chance that the likes of Diablo 2 remaster could be skipped, based on what Blizzard employees have said in the past.ĭiablo series’ David Brevik spoke earlier this year on the subject, telling the podcast: “If you do a remaster, this is going to sound terrible, I am going to sound like an old fogey here, but kids these days don’t understand how games were made back then.
